My daughter wakes me up every morning.
The stereotypical stance is that this is annoying because "babies wake up too early" or "new parents are always tired" but it couldn't be further from the truth.
I go to bed at a reasonable time and I am usually well rested when she decides to yell good morning from her crib. I was an early riser before she thought it was cool.
We will play, eat breakfast, watch some terrible Cocomelon and then get dressed for daycare.
We're lucky that our daycare is close because it allows me to walk her to school and it's one of my favorite 15 minutes of the day.
After that I tend to write. I'll either write an article, an email, or journal. You're a part of my day during this time because I often send my writing straight to you.
I don't agonize over my content and I don't care whether every email is a masterpiece. Done is better than perfect.
After that I exercise. If I don't get enough exercise I get depressed and life gets significantly harder. I used to run but my knees seem to be getting older than my spirit. I tried weightlifting with a personal trainer but I hated it.
So now I exercise in VR and you wouldn't believe how good a shape my avatar is in! Any time I'm asked, "how do you stay in shape?" I can confidently say, "I just play video games..."
After my morning routine I'll handle any work that's due, emails that need answered and trainings that need created.
I've always wanted to be able to walk into a restaurant and order "the usual" so once a week I'll go to Bisbee Breakfast Club down the street and order a Rhino Wrap with fries and an Arnold Palmer. This is my usual and they know it. It's good to have life goals.
The middle of the day is also when I schedule any live calls with clients or classes with my students. I defend my mornings to be creative, but it energizes me to bring my A-game afterward for my students.
In the afternoon I slowly lose steam, putz around on the internet, read books, and watch the training videos from coaching programs I'm personally enrolled in.
(Read: I also play more video games here than the previous sentence suggests...).
Finally, I get another fun fifteen minutes walking my daughter back from school and I switch into family mode for the night.
This is my ideal day.
Although not every day is exactly like this because #LifeHappens, it's as close to the definition of success as I can find.
What does your ideal day look like?
How close is it to the day-to-day you're currently living?
If you feel like it's not quite aligned to your ideal day, I'd love to help you by showing you the path I took to get here.
I'm covering it all inside my LIVE Creative Business Crash Course THIS afternoon.
If you want a more ideal day, maybe you'll find my free training useful to get started.
And if you want me to coach you to get closer to your ideal day, at the end of the crash course I'll be opening up enrollment to only five people to join me inside the Creative Business Bootcamp.
It'll be six weeks of business coaching to help you succeed with your music, audio or creative business online so if you're interested to learn more, click this link to register.
There will be a replay, but you must register to receive it. And you will only have 48 hours to watch it so make sure you take advantage of it.
To your ideal day,
Björgvin
