Here's the bullshit I have to deal with on Facebook for you guys...

One of my biggest pet peeves are the Facebook know-it-alls that think a good drum sound can be solved with one sentence in the Facebook comment feed.

While I was promoting my Drum EQ Guide I got these "genius" comments:

These statements are so flawed and unrealistic that it makes me cringe.

It's on the same level as:

Just make a million dollars, then you don't need to work.

Just get into Harvard, then you don't need to struggle to find work.

Just wake up skinny, then you don't have to exercise.

What if the people I'm trying to help don't have a "good room." ?!?

Should I just say "screw them. I'm just going to help those that don't need help." ?

It's absurd. The reason I create tutorials is to help those that don't have a perfect room with a perfect mic.

It's ignorant to think that just because you have a good room that you don't need to know how to EQ your drums. Sure, it's nice to have a good room and your drums will certainly sound better because of it, but it's naive to think that you don't need to learn to EQ.

It's one of the most valuable skills an engineer has. Listening to an instrument and knowing instinctively which frequencies I need to EQ to make the mix better is one of my most favorite skills.

Whether I'm helping you mix systematically with five plug-ins, mix quickly through Quick Mixing, explode your drum mix with the Drum Mix Toolkit or give you a complete overview of the frequency spectrum with my Ultimate Guide to EQ, it's clear that EQ is one of the most important aspects of audio engineering.

That's why I cover EQ in some way in every single product I make. It's that important.

And this week only you can get my Ultimate Birthday Bundle that's filled with all of my training products for over 60% Off.

If you've ever been meaning to grab a tutorial from me, now's your best chance to get the biggest bang for your buck.

Head on over here and change your mixes for the better with in-depth audio training from your favorite Icelandic audio engineer.
