Yesterday I talked about the "cheap-o" frequency that plagues acoustic guitar
players.
It's that frequency that makes the guitar sound like you just picked it up at the clearance aisle at Walmart.
However, what I failed to tell you was where that frequency is!
How stupid of me.
When an acoustic guitar sounds a bit tinny and the strings of the guitar are sounding a bit too
"wire-y," then I tend to start hunting around in the 800 Hz area.
I was too wrapped up in talking about how annoying that frequency is that I completely forgot how to help you fix the problem!
Of course, not everyone is mixing acoustic guitars all the time. I tend to mix a lot of them because I do a lot of singer/songwriter and indie folk stuff.
If you're mixing
different music and need genre-specific advice, I highly recommend checking out some of the Mixthru videos over at The Pro Audio Files.
That's all today. Apologies again for the mixup yesterday.
Have a great rest of your Tuesday!
