Today, to
lighten things up, let’s talk about golf.
Even if you’re familiar with all the big players in golf like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Jack Nicklaus, there’s one person you might have never heard of.
Mike “Fluff” Cowan.
Who?
“Fluff” Cowan is a 37-year tour veteran and has shared the course with all the greats during his
time.
The reason you don’t know his name is because he’s a caddie
He’s been the right-hand man to Peter Jacobsen, Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk to name a few.
He’s the guy that makes sure the pros use the right club to win the game. Think about how important that job is. The caddie knows both the layout of the course and the playing style of the golfer so
he can recommend the right club for every shot. If he recommends the wrong club and Tiger overshoots the green and into the sand trap, Tiger might lose the entire tournament!
I like to think of myself as your caddie. I help you make better-sounding mixes by helping you understand the frequency spectrum. Say you're wondering why your mixes are sounding harsh and I give you a tip that helps clear the entire high-end up,
That's kind of like when a caddie knows you need a 56° wedge to nail that lob-shot so the ball to dies right by the hole and doesn't roll into the sand trap.
The same thing goes for your mixes. Instead of wandering around the frequency spectrum not knowing why your mix sounds like crap, I have everything you need to know about making clearer sounding mixes.
How I do that isn't by
walking the golf course with you and giving you EQ tips as you beat me at golf.
Oh no, I'm much more efficient than that.
My handy reference guide, EQ Strategies - Your Ultimate Guide to EQ is your handbook to making sure you make better EQ'ing decisions.
Not
only is it cheaper than a round of golf, but in the four hours it takes you to wonder why you ever set foot on the golf course in the first place, you'll have become a master of EQ!
