Are you a petrified puppy or a daring dog?

My dog's a wuss.

He's afraid of everything. When we get a thunderstorm he freaks out and hides, thinking that World War III has broken out in our backyard.

A couple days ago I found him quivering under my desk, nestled between my acoustic guitar amp and my subwoofer:

Little does he know that he doesn't have anything to be afraid of.

There's no intergalactic supervillain war going on outside. It's just a little thunder. He's afraid for no reason and I'm sure you can relate to that feeling when you're ready to finish and release your mixes.

It's kind of scary to tell yourself that your mixes are done. That you can't keep tweaking them anymore. But if you ever want to create a body of work you have to start releasing stuff into the world.

I just finished a grungy indie folk record yesterday and I still can't shake those doubts:

But at the end of the day, the artist was really happy with the entire production and we needed to finish. At that point, that's all that matters. I have to hand them over to the artist and hope for the best.

My mixes can't be paralyzed by fear. I refuse to act like my wussy dog. When my dog dog acts like a bad-ass, we like to act cool together.
