She was so excited about Valentine's Day yesterday because of the bread.
Not because she was on some no-carb diet and was allowing herself to eat bread on Valentine's Day.
No, she was excited because the best baker in town, Don Guerra of Barrio Bread, was selling her favorite bread.
And she was gonna get some!
(Mind you, she was probably more excited about this bread than the Valentine's Day present I gave her, which was a trip to Madrid. $300 roundtrip, thanks Scott's Cheap Flights!)
Fancy Valentine's Special: Sourdough loaf with tart cherries and dark chocolate. Max 3 per order. No international travel needed.
Smear some cream cheese on it and she's in heaven.
Me? I prefer butter and strawberry jam to offset the tartness of the cherries and add depth to the chocolate flavor.
They sell out fast so they won't sell you more than three.
And she asked me, "should I get all three?"
I said, "yeah, get one, give one, freeze one."
Then I thought, isn't that the philosophy of life there?
- Get one: Take care of yourself first. Put your oxygen mask on first before helping others so you don't fall apart in the process. Then...
- Give one: You only get what you give, as The New Radicals sang (my favorite Michael Brauer mix btw).
- Freeze one: Save one for later. You never know what's going to happen. Make sure you have an emergency fund (in case of emergency, break bread).
In the case of Audio Issues, I get your attention with every post, which I'm grateful for.
In the process, I give you advice that helps you make your music sound better.
And throughout the process, I keep coming up with content ideas that I save for later. For future blog posts. For future premium products.
Take EQ Strategies for instance. It's grown throughout the years. It used to be a short PDF with a few EQ tips I thought were useful. This was back in 2013 or so. Five thousand internet years ago.
Now, because of the interactions I have with you, where you tell me what EQ problems you have, not only do I try to answer as many EQ questions as possible for free, but all that content has been compiled into the massive Ultimate Guide to EQ you can get today. Complete with an in-depth reference book and video instruction.
EQ Strategies will help you understand frequencies in such a way that zeroing in on problematic frequencies in your mix becomes easier and less jumbled.
In short, it's your ultimate guide to organizing and speeding up the mixing process with the effective use of EQ.
