In case you're stuck inside this week as the world grinds to a much-needed halt, maybe you can use the opportunity to flex your creative muscles?
If you're able to log off social media and turn off the cable news for a few hours today, you might actually be able to enter the flow state, or:
"... the mental state in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity... a state of effortless attention."
If that sounds like a better alternative to binging on the outbreak, I'm happy to share a recent contribution from one of my students, bass-player and music producer extraordinaire: Mischa Marks from Germany.
He shares some great thoughts on how to improve your practice regime to improve even faster. And although we might have more time than ever these days, it's still important to use it wisely and efficiently!
P.S.
My books and courses have helped thousands of home studio musicians and bedroom producers skyrocket their mixing skills and I never tire of hearing your stories!
In fact, Kray Van Kirk, emailed me yesterday about his new release, The Midnight Commander, telling me:
"Although the Net is full of articles and endless pages on mixing and recording and such, I relied mostly on the material I had purchased from you. Your materials were enormously helpful not only in terms of understanding what the hell all of these plugins and effects do, but also how to arrange them and order the workflow. I really appreciate them!! They're great!"
Congratulations on the upcoming release Kray. I'm glad my training could help you put your creativity into the world. We sure need it now more than ever!
If you have a similar story of how my materials have helped, I'd love to hear them.
Cheers,
Björgvin
