I'm flying from Tucson to Iceland today and boy are my hands clean!
Don't get me wrong, I'm a pretty clean and healthy guy, but I don't think I've ever been so careful about washing my hands.
Get this: I'm flying home to Iceland because it's my sister's wedding and I'm playing at her wedding, doing stripped-down acoustic versions of:
- Is This Love by Bob Marley
- All You Need is Love by the Beatles (of course...)
- Taking You With Me by Danial Tashian and Mindy Smith (from the movie "My Idiot Brother" of course...)
- and First Day of my Life by Bright Eyes
But as with every love story (even if you're just playing the part of the brother), there's always conflict and trouble ahead.
Otherwise, the third act resolution has no pay-off you know?
And with Iceland having the largest per-capita outbreak of COVID-19 in the world, with 500 people in quarantine (that's 0.1% of the Icelandic population...), I feel like this love story is quickly turning into a zombie-apocalypse-style thriller...
So if I don't make it back and they put me in quarantine, let me leave you with this.
Just like you should keep your hands clean, your mixes should sound clean as well.
That means monitoring the low-end on speakers that can accurately reproduce the bass frequencies. That way you can make sure there's no weird low-end anywhere, whether that's the bass or kick, or even sometimes the reverb on the toms (that just happened to my friend Ed).
So if you're looking for cleaner and more powerful mixes that don't sound weak (although they may sound siiiiick!), you have two options available to you:
Option #1 - Self-Paced Mix Training
Get started this week and do yourself a favor and clean up your mixes by going through my Mixing With 5 Plug-ins course. It teaches you everything you need to know to make quality mixes. And best of all, it's a system that helps you approach every mix in a systemized fashion.
That way, your recovery time is much shorter once you realize your mix sounds thin and weak (no pun intended!)
If you'd like to create cleaner and clearer mixes, without nasal vocals that make your vocalist sound stuffed up with allergies, check out the course at www.MixingWith5Plugins.com
Option #2 - Mix Coaching and Professional Mastering
If you're tired of bouncing from one Youtube video to another or buying courses that never seem relevant to the music you're working on, custom music production coaching will help you finally get the mentorship you need to succeed.
With specialized mix coaching, you'll get personalized attention and feedback on your mixes and professional mastering so that you don't have to worry about giving your mix that final 10% (hint: I'll just do it for you).
If that's something you're interested in, apply for custom mix coaching and professional mastering right here.
Whichever option you choose, just do me a favor and at least do this:
Wash. Your. Hands!
Safe travels (to me!)
