John Martin's jazz-trio song, Engelenhart was a fun tune to work on this week, and I discovered an alternative way to create separation between the piano and the upright bass in the lower-mids.
Sometimes when two instruments are playing together in the same register, you'll get too much build-up down there and this time I used an advanced side-chaining technique to clear the muddiness so that the two instruments could play nicely together.
