This week's mix tip video features the song "Simon Taylor Denver Cash" by The Promise is Hope, and it's a beautiful singer/songwriter-style folk song with acoustic guitars, dual lead vocals and spacious reverbs.
I mixed and mastered the song and I thought I'd help them promote their release by doing a quick Youtube video to show you a few of the mixing techniques I used on the vocals.
Watch the video to learn:
- How to create separation between dual lead vocals with subtle panning
- How to automate effects to create intimacy in certain sections of the song to accent the emotional content of the vocals
- How to use reverb and delay in series to get a spacious vocal sound that doesn't clutter up the mix
