Eric plays guitar and sings with his wife in the band The Promise is Hope out of Boston.
They had always used a professional recording studio to record their songs and focused on touring to make an income with their music.
When COVID hit, the touring schedule dried up and they were forced to get creative with their music career.
His journey as a musician and engineer has been interesting to follow in the last year through my Audio Issues Insiders community.
With less money from their income-generating efforts, they focused on making the most of their home studio instead of relying on expensive engineers (and possibly risking their health) at professional studios.
As a member of our Audio Issues Insiders community he got the support and encouragement he needed to produce the music they wanted from their home studio. When he joined, he wasn't sure whether he could make his music sound like the songs he had done in professional studios, but he was determined to have total control over the sound of their music.
Since then he has become confident with his mixing and engineering skills and his music has allowed him to start charging for his work as a professional engineer.
He recently sat down with me to share his story about what he's learned as an Insider and how it has helped him level up his music career.
You can find his interview here.
The Insiders community opens three times a year and it will open to new members in September, so if you're interested in becoming a part of the community, head on over here and join the waiting list.
Cheers,
Björgvin
