Using Studio Mixing Techniques To Produce Your Live Guitar Sound

Published: Thu, 09/24/15

I bought a new toy last week that I'm excited to tell you about.

It's a Zoom G5 multi-effects pedal that I'm using to make our live shows sound more produced.

In this week's Long Wait video I talk you through what I use it for and how I use studio mixing techniques to get a pre-mixed and fuller sound out of the acoustic guitar during live shows.

Check out our Patreon feed for more videos, and become a Patron to get a bunch of free Long Wait goodies such as multi-tracks, exclusive mix videos and more.

I'm a big live sound nerd myself. As you might know I started out in the audio industry by doing live sound for bands in my hometown.

I guess this knowledge and passion to make a live gig sound good bleeds into me being a musician wanting to improve our live sound even when we don't have a full live rig and a dedicated mixing engineer.

You can still make your live shows sound big and produced, regardless of the equipment you're using.

I talk all about that from start to finish in my aptly names eBook, Live Sound Survival - Big Sounds out of Small Systems.
