The stage is set and I’m ready for tomorrow’s free training webinar: How to Aim Any Speaker

We’ll be kicking off at 10:00am Pacific Time sharp, tomorrow.
I asked Nathan Lively from Sound Design Live to offer this training because it's one of the most common problems that live sound engineers have to deal with. Although we
live in a world of information, where almost anything can be found with the computer in your pocket, we still struggle to understand our equipment. And it's super annoying because it so often feels out of our control.
As a live sound engineer I'm often thrown into situations where I don't know what I'm working with until it comes off of the truck. Then I have a very small amount of time to figure how to set it up to
maximum effect.
Nathan is going to give you a step-by-step system to aim any speaker in the field. This will help you deal with those generic boxes that lack specifications or any information online. It will also help you visualize your coverage patterns so that you put sound where the people are, while avoiding unnecessary overlap and reflections.
Besides that, you’ll receive a free copy of Master Your Craft: Sound System Tuning for Confidence and Consistency just for attending!
Yes, there will be a recording available, but the valuable gift is only for live attendees. It will be edited out of the replay. :)
Here’s a quick recap of
what we’ll cover in our time together:
- How to choose one or multiple speakers for consistent coverage
- How to avoid room reflections and coverage overlap that cause nasty phasing
- How to use LF control in small venues so that the neighbors don't call
the cops
- What can I do when there isn't enough time for Smaart and I don't know what gear I have until I'm on-site?
- How do I get the configuration of an array based on the room size ASAP, so I don't have riggers waiting on me to make a decision?
- Are
there speakers that are not built to be arrayed horizontally?
- How do I focus surrounds for even coverage?
- When do mono and stereo systems really make a difference?
- How do I use placement to avoid hot spots in the room?
- How do I discover the coverage pattern of a speaker in the field?
- When are delay speakers necessary?
Time is running out to register, so do it right now, while it’s fresh on your mind!
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at 10:00am Pacific Time.

P.S. Please write down all of your questions about speaker aim and Nathan will answer them during the Q&A session after the training.
