I was asked about what the ratio on a compressor does yesterday.

I was recording a band live at the radio station, something I do most Mondays, and I was twiddling some knobs on the dbx 160 when one of the volunteers asked me about it.

It was a great question and I remembered that I had answered it pretty well in a previous post.
