As you know, Step by Step Mixing : How to Create Great Mixes Using Only 5 Plug-ins comes out next week.

It's loosely based off my Mixing With 5 Plug-ins course, my video course that shows you how to mix a song from beginning to end with only 5 plug-ins.

I originally thought I'd offer it as a companion to the course but the book took on a life of its own while I was writing it so it will be available as a stand-alone Kindle eBook next week.

Anyhoo, I took the opportunity and asked Lij Shaw of the Recording Studio Rockstars podcast whether he wanted to have me on as a repeat guest (I was one of his first guests on the show) to talk about the book.

This time around we're going to do it a little bit differently and try to answer as many questions as we can about the most important plug-ins you need to master to make great mixes:

• EQ
• Compression
• Reverb
• Delay
• Saturation

If you know those inside and out mixing will become much easier.
